Dietary Suggestions for Spleen Not Controlling Blood

One area where Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine overlap with regard to the Spleen is the control of blood. Chinese Medicine views that Spleen Qi holds blood in, keeping it from bleeding. When people with Spleen Qi Deficiency, their Spleens can sometimes fail to hold blood in. It manifests as uterine bleeding, blood in the urine, anal bleeding, and purpura.

Beneficial Foods: generally warm; slightly charred foods
apple cucumber, beef, bird's nest, black-eyed peas, carrot, cherry, chestnut, chicken egg yolk, cucumber meat, button mushrooms, dates, ginger, grape, ham, lotus fruit and seed, perch, potato, mustard seed, rice, rock sugar, string bean, sweet potato, yam.

Beneficial Teas:
ginger, cinnamon

Avoid:
cold foods, very hot foods
