Martial Arts Training
One aspect of maintaining a healthy mind and body is regular exercise.
The Center for Traditional Asian Health currently provides instruction
in two martial styles with different focuses: Yang-style Taiji for a
relaxing, low-impact workout; and Wing Chun Kung Fu for self-defense.

We practice the 24 Yang short form and the compulsory 42 combined form.
The Yang forms emphasize slow, graceful motions that facilitate the flow
of Qi in the body while helping to relax the mind. The 42 form as sanctioned
by the Chinese Wushu governing body, combines the movements of several styles
of Taiji.
In addition, depending on time and interest, we will also cover Qigong basics,
including deep breathing and an internal style of martial arts known as Water Fist.
