Our Plan: Center for Traditional Asian Health

VISION
We envision a Center where people concerned about their health and well-being can benefit from the experiences of a several talented and caring practitioners of traditional Asian health systems.

The Center would have offices for medical treatments as well as a training hall that could be used for regular training, lectures, workshops, and demonstrations.

Services include:

  • Acupuncture Treatments
  • Herbal Medicine Consultations and Sales
  • Asian Body Work
  • Martial Arts and Qigong Classes
  • Lectures and Demonstrations

TOWARD OUR GOAL
We are in the process of realizing this goal. This includes the networking of various practitioners, the search for the ideal location, and renovation (if necessary). While many of the practitioners are currently working independently, we hope to have a central office operating by the beginning of 2004.

FOR PRACTITIONERS
We do not see the Center as a single business staffed by employee practitioners, but rather as a communal location where we can operate our individual practices. At the same time, it is a place where people who are dedicated toward self-improvement can mutually learn from one another.

As such, we seek to foster an atmosphere of comraderie and mutual respect. We further seek an equitable division of financial costs.

Projected rents, assuming a 3-month commitment, would be:

  • Treatment Rooms:
    • $100/month for every day of the week reserved
    • $10 for one treatment
  • Lecture/Training Hall
    • $60/month for regular 1.5-hour weekly time slot reserved
    • $25/hr for one-time rental

Asian vs. Oriental

We prefer to use "Asian" over "Oriental" since the latter term exotifies and mystifies the modalities that we practice.

Practitioners
Here is a list of some of the Practitioners who are tentatively planning to be a part of the Center for Traditional Asian Health:

John Kang - TCM, Martial Arts
Mike Shea - Martial Arts
Jianhua Zhou - Martial Arts, Taiji
Janet Borges - TCM

We are looking for practitioners of Five-element acupuncture, Japanese acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Nutrition, Tui-Na, Asian Massage Therapy, and similar modalities to join us.

Contact John Kang at: info@aznhealth.com or (804) 513-4408 to discuss possibilities.
